Flagship hospital designed to meet the healthcare needs of young Midrand community
Friday, 28 October 2011 It was just a week after the Netcare Waterfall City Hospital opened its doors when, to the great excitement of staff members, the first baby was delivered there. The little baby boy, named Pono-Entle, which means beautiful vision from God, is the son of Desiree Maluleke. Since his birth the ?stork? has become a regular sight at the hospital.

?We are a brand new state-of-the-art hospital that aims to serve the community of Midrand,? says Hospital Manager Rolien Kuhne. ?With the outstanding maternity services we have on offer we hope to have many more babies enter the world at our beautiful hospital.?

Kuhne notes that in addition to an exceptional maternity offering, Netcare Waterfall City Hospital offers a comprehensive range of other services, aiming to meet every healthcare need of the community.

It has a total of seven theatres three of which are completely digitised. There are surgical, medical and paediatric wards as well as a neonatal intensive care unit. A wide range of other specialist services is available including urology, ENT (ear, nose and throat), maxillofacial surgery, orthopaedics, psychiatry, gastroenterology, ophthalmology and vascular surgery.

The hospital is strategically situated just off the newly upgraded Allandale off-ramp on the N1 and provides the residents of the area with access to world-class 24-hour emergency care.

Construction of the 126-bed hospital started in January 2010 and was completed earlier this year. The hospital is an upmarket flagship facility with exclusive finishes and quality design. While it is highly functional it also fits attractively into its surrounds in the Waterfall Estate

?We have designed the hospital in such a way that is a warm, people-centred environment, that strives to provide all-embracing quality healthcare,? concludes Kuhne.
