Now there's an eye in the sky thanks to Netcare 911 and Jacaranda 94.2

Thursday, July 2, 2009    2009 Jacaranda 94.2 and Netcare 911 this morning signed an agreement that will have traffic weary Gautengers heaving a sigh of relief.

In terms of the agreement Jacaranda 94.2 and Netcare 911 have entered into a working partnership to launch a much-needed Airborne Media Campaign in the Gauteng region commencing on Monday, 6 July 2009.

Commenting on the brand-new airborne response campaign Thabo Matime, General Manager, Sales and Marketing of Netcare 911 said that it was an exciting day for all concerned. “In terms of the agreement Netcare 911 will provide a helicopter and pilot which will undertake air patrols of major routes in and around Gauteng. These patrols will be undertaken, subject to weather, daylight and helicopter serviceability, from Monday to Friday between the hours of 07h00 – 08h00 and 17h00 - 18h00. During this time Jacaranda 94.2 will cross live to the Netcare 911 helicopter in order to provide listeners with comprehensive traffic reports.”

“It was Netcare 911’s intention to extend the service offering of its Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) with a helicopter airborne response patrol. The Netcare 911 airborne response helicopter will operate in addition to Netcare 911 HEMS and although it will not be able to transport patients, it will be crewed by an Advanced Life Support Paramedic. This will allow for rapid assessment and intervention during motor vehicle incidents that are a major cause of morbidity and mortality in South Africa.”

According to Matime the new service presented the ideal opportunity to provide road users with a credible source of information on serious incidents impacting on major routes in and around Gauteng. “The best way to relay this information to the public was by partnering with a credible media house. We have chosen Jacaranda 94.2 as we are both highly credible, premier South African brands that compliment one another.”

“We really look forward to introducing this valuable new service to the people of Gauteng in order to reduce the traffic stress that has become such an unwelcome part of our daily lives,” concluded Matime.
