Course Name: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS)
Description:

This course is aimed at healthcare professionals who need to perform CPR (adults, children and infants), use an AED (automated external defibrillator) and manage patients who are choking (adults, children and infants) in a range of in-hospital and out-of hospital situations. 

Participants will receive a course manual and be guided through the video based course by an AHA (American Heart Association) qualified instructor.  On successful completion of the course (written and practical assessment), participants will receive an AHA certificate which is valid for two years.

Course duration:         6 hours

CEUs:                           14

This course can be presented at a FECC campus or at a site mutually acceptable to parties. 

Please note: This course is a pre-requisite for the ACLS ® and PALS ® courses.
